Founder
Gerald founded Morin Brothers Building Supplies Inc. with his brothers Claude, Daniel, and Gaston in 1986. Over time, the company became Morin Supply. While still holding the Morin family trusted name, the company had evolved with a new generation, but still reflective of the industry’s diverse corporate culture.
Having over 48 years of experience in the industry and being a founding partner at Morin Supply, Gerald brings great experience, resources, and knowledge to his role as a founding partner. Within the company, he thrives in his unofficial role as a mentor, sharing valuable resources and assets with his employees.
Gerald works closely with clients on special projects. He listens and understands the unique needs of each client, aiming to provide solutions and strategies for their jobs.
President
Having spent nearly 10 years at Morin Supply in a wide variety of positions including yardman, operations, sales, and more, Yanik brings a fresh perspective to his role as President of the company. Working his way up through the organization has allowed him to approach his job with a holistic view while building his critical thinking abilities. Although Yanik strives to find new ways of operating the business, he comes from the mindset that there is no need to “re-invent the wheel”. He simply works to improve, adjust, and tweak where needed. By listening and forging meaningful relationships with clients, vendors, and partners, areas of improvement tend to naturally reveal themselves.
Prior to officially joining the team at Morin Supply, Yanik spent several years in client-facing roles. This experience became the foundation of his customer-centric mindset and helped to forge his skills in negotiation, human resources, and service.
Every day, Yanik is driven by the desire to help shape the National Capital Region’s skyline. He strives to lead the company to be a reliable supplier and trusted partner for building professionals and homeowners looking for best-in-class products and service.
Vice-President
With over 20 years of industry experience, Julie is a seasoned accounting professional. Starting her career in the accounting department at the Chateau Laurier in 1992, she then joined the team at Morin Supply as an accounting assistant in 2001. Come 2006, Julie became the accounting manager and in 2013 she was promoted to the leadership team as part-owner and vice-president of administration, accounting, and payroll.
In her role as Vice-President of Morin Supply, Julie is responsible for overseeing the administration of the business, as well as the accounting and payroll departments. She is highly analytical when it comes to problem solving allowing her to make effective business decisions involving budgets and cash flow management. Julie is also exceedingly organized and an effective time manager. Her colleagues value her investigative mindset and know they can count on her to develop solutions in a calm and positive manner.
Julie is driven by numbers – always working with data that will assist her in developing Morin Supply’s business goals and budgetary objectives. Conveying accurate information to her business partners in a way that is understood is what motivates her. Leveraging her strong interpersonal abilities, Julie also works hard to help clients overcome challenges by providing them with detailed and precise data, making it easier to attain a feasible solution.
Director of Sales
Officially beginning his construction career in 2007 in the field of carpentry, Mathieu found his true passions for the industry when he progressed into project management and ownership roles. These positions allowed him to explore his enthusiasm for innovative products & solutions which ultimately launched him into sales management.
As Director of Sales at Morin Supply, Mathieu has a proven track record of creating and accelerating sales growth, cultivating, and developing new business, and obtaining optimal levels of profitability in highly competitive market segments. Consulting effectively with his clients allows him to accurately prioritize activities and achieve defined objectives with the ability to translate client requirements into sales solutions.
His experience in all sides of the industry, allows him to put himself in the customer’s shoes. He understands how a problem can affect many facets of a project and his goal is to reduce the impact it will have. And the end of the day, Mathieu truly believes that his clients’ success translates into his success. He prides himself on being reliable and available for customers and he is continually building on his knowledge base so that he can better serve them.
Executive Sales & Marketing Coordinator
With 12 years of experience in the field of construction, Celine has grown to become a proactive and highly skilled coordinator. She provides support so that all operations of the company can run smoothly and possesses the unique clerical and computer skills required to assist the organization in achieving its mission. Years of hands-on experience in an office environment, have allowed her to demonstrate her ability to develop positive relationships with coworkers and customers alike.
Beginning her journey with Morin Supply in 2009, she has worked her way up through a variety of roles within the sales and marketing teams. Now, as an Executive Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Morin Supply, Celine has built a niche experience keeping the communication lines open by working closely with the outside and inside sales teams and the purchasing team, all while supporting many other initiatives with the Sales Director.
Prior to joining the team at Morin Supply, Celine worked as a freelance graphic designer working on various projects with agencies and clients from around the Ottawa region. Throughout this time, she built editorial design and production work experience – leveraging her knowledge and skills in these areas to deliver effective creativity to clients and their audiences.
Outside Sales Representative
Boasting nearly 40 years of experience in building material logistics, Dave brings a vast range of expertise to his sales role at Morin Supply. In 1986, he joined the company as a labourer and over the years he has worked his way through a variety of roles including operations, sales, dispatch, and more. Having spent time in various departments, Dave possesses a unique, in-depth understanding of the business. His tenure in the industry has also allowed him to develop effective problem-solving abilities and comprehensive product knowledge – skills that Dave strives to teach to the new generation of workers.
Dave is exceedingly passionate about the construction sector. Watching projects come together, seeing the impact of innovations within the industry, and finding solutions that help clients become more profitable, are all factors that motivate and inspire him each day. He loves building relationships with clients and colleagues, and he leans on his extensive experience to help anyone who needs it. From estimating to logistics management and everything in between, Dave has done it all and he’s ready to share his insights.
Outside Sales Representative
With over 10 years of experience in sales, 4 of which have been in construction, Kjev has a demonstrated ability to put customers at ease throughout the pre- and post-sales process. His clients, whether current, prospective, or past, know they can always count on Kjev to answer their call and lend a listening ear when they need it.
Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Kjev loves to solve problems and make deep, meaningful connections with clients. He is a natural communicator, with a knack for mediation and building lasting bonds with colleagues and customers alike. Kjev’s passion for continuous learning fuels his adaptability and allows him to effectively represent the business as well as the needs of clients.
Outside Sales Representative
Although relatively new to the construction industry, Hugo brings over 15 years of experience in customer-facing roles to his sales position at Morin Supply. Over the years, his jobs have always centered around the customer experience, and by carefully listening to his clients, Hugo is able to provide them with top-of-the-line support while addressing their needs.
Focusing on the concrete (and related products) portion of the business, Hugo strives to continually build a comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, procedures, and innovations to help him better serve clients. He also has a strong inclination for finding solutions and communicating them, as well as a passion for collaboration. Drawing on his experience in fixed operations management, Hugo works with a team-oriented mindset and a strong work ethic. His customers, and his team, know they can always count on him, to find solutions and get the job done.
